Garage of Evil!!

looking for foam recommendation for outdoor gargoyle

Hi all, I am looking to make a 'life size' gargoyle for outdoor use. I am considering using the pink insulation sheathing they sell at Home Depot, and gluing a bunch of them together. I'm guessing that just making a 4x4x4 block would be about $230 - 350 (depending on the the foam type (foamular 150 or 250), and not considering the glue. So then I got to thinking there must be a better option for starting out with a block of foam. I would like get something that carves well, and that can be painted.

Any suggestions?

Hey Scott, try looking up architectural foam business in your area. They can often cut you a block to the size you need cheaper than trying to glue sheets together.
