Color changing stage lights?

I'd like to make a light that will accommodate 2 or three light bulbs/spotlights/floodlights so that one comes on, and ideally fades into the other. It would be used in haunted houses.I am pretty sure this is a simple build, but I'd appreciate direction or advice.A simple setup with a switch (foot pedal) that simply shuts off one color and turns on another would do.A button that begins to fade one color out and another in would be better. One that can be set to fade from one to another…See More

November 18, 2012 from 10:30am to 1pm
Bring that clean white skeleton you just got on clearance, or your foam/plastic Jack-O-Lantern and turn them into corpses! We'll be corpsing using two different methods. For the skeletons, we'll be corpsing using the plastic drop cloth, heat gun, and gel stain method. For the Jacks, we'll be using cotton balls, Elmer's Glue, and paint. You'll need to provide the skelly and/or the Jack, and the drop cloth. We'll have cotton balls, glue, paint, and some gel stain. A little goes a long way, and if…See More

Steal Like an Artist

I present you with some excerpts from Austin Kleon's new book, ""How to Steal Like an Artist".  Don't we all "steal" ideas, inspiration, techniques wherever we can find them?  Whether you think of yourself as an artist or not, it's hard for me to see haunters as anything else.  The designing and construction of props seems as artistic a pursuit as sculpting.  Even those who don't build anything design their show as carefully as any producer.  Scare acting is a craft as much as any other acting.…See More

lol, I wonder the same thing, I was thinking about writing a blog post myself, so I came here and got side tracked with your werewolf post which I enjoyed very much,  then ended up leaving due to the time. I know I should get more familiar/ interactive with this site. Anyway loved the post, it would be incredibly cool it you could pull it off.

those are cool-looking.  I think that jar on the right is the type I'm using for brains, eyes, but these have alot more visual interest.  Currently I just paint the lids black and spray the bottom thirs with "frost"  which gives a great, somky look to any glassware.
