Local Haunt Group - Kensington, Md

Posted on August 26, 2014 at 10:15pm 4 Comments

Hi Everyone,

We are on for the first meeting of the Haunt Group on September 13th 2014 from 1:00 to 4:00 in Kensington, Md.  If you are interested in Halloween then you are welcome.

I have a few goals for the first meeting.  First I would like to get to know the haunters in the area.  What are you doing in your haunt and what you want to do in the future?  I would also like to spend some time figuring out what we want to do as a group.  Such as group builds, group buys, education,…

Keith, I live near Baltimore and would like to attend the build at your home.  I can be reached through facebook.  I am the only Tom Grabowski in the Baltimore area.  What is the address and what should I bring.

I see it takes me about 90 minutes to drive to Kensington from Aberdeen. When will the next meeting be?

Keith, thanks for hosting the haunt group last Saturday - I learned alot of great tips and enjoyed hearing about everyone's haunts and props.  I was so inspired, that when I got home I immediately starting working a new magic mirror prop.

Looking forward to learning and sharing.

Happy Haunting,

Remember Chris, "If you build it, they will come..."

At my old place, which was in a hidden place in a cul de sac, I worked for a bit of time on it.  All the while, my friends that lived in the area said "why are you putting so much time, NOBODY trick or treats here!"   By the time the one day run was over, 25 people came through. We only had 20 people in the cul de sac to begin with.  Neighbors brought over other neighbors, and people went through multiple times. The very next year, most of everybody had their porch lights on Halloween.  One person (me) had resurrected Trick or Treat for an entire neighborhood! While your results may vary, it's important to remember to keep an American tradition alive and moaning!  --Dean

Hi Keith!  Thanks for putting this together.  Unfortunately, my DH (Darling Hubby) and I won't be able to make it, but hope you guys have a great time.  Please keep us in mind for future events.  Cheers, Kelly and Brent.

I am very interested in a group. I am active duty military and will be in training on the 13th but I'm happy to know that there are others that want to share ideas and the knowledge with others.

Great idea (for a local haunt group).  9/13 won't work for me, but be interested in seeing if others in the area want to share ideas, knowledge, and slightly used props!

What are you working on this year? I built a 20 foot spider a couple of years ago, but moved this summer and I am not sure if I still have all of the legs. Had hoped to build and electric chair this summer, but the new (old) house is a fixer-upper and is really sucking all of my time.

Cheers, Jeff

What time were you thinking? I'm off that day, can probably meet for a few hours (need to run it by the Mrs.)

I'll certainly see if I can make it, I think any kind of make-n-take would be good and gravestones are fairly straight forward.  I had a nice following at the old house, this part of the neighborhood is just empty, even with loads of stuff in the yard no one comes down here.  I'm hoping this year shows an increase or may have to think about downsizing my kit.  I don't have a foam cutter (just razors) but I have a heat gun and some other stuff I can dig out to use.  Hopefully my schedule will line up, will be competing with school/work/birthday that weekend.
