Assembling the 3 axis plate continued... again.

Photobucket
These are the pieces in the kit that make up the axis rod. One screws into the other.

Photobucket
Like this. The threaded part is too long, however, and must be cut.

Photobucket
The axis rod is placed into the rodend to measure how much to cut. This is done by eyeballing the Allen bolt. Since the nod and tilt linkages go there, I visualize the level of the related servo horns and note the length of the excess threaded rod that needs to be cut.

Photobucket
I cut the rod using a roto tool.

Photobucket
I blew it and forgot to take a pic of the axis rod assembly in real time, but here is a pic a bit later in the process...place axis rod into rodend, then place beveled washer, nut, axis plate, then lock nut. It should look like the pic above.

Photobucket
Now it's time to add the linkages. Start by removing the rotate servo horn and drilling out the first and last holes using a 3/32 bit.

Photobucket
These are the linkage parts that need to be attached to the rotate servo horn. They consist of a 2/56 ball link, beveled washer, 2/56 allen bolt and 2/56 nut.

Photobucket
Assemble the linkage onto the horn, as shown..bolt, linkage, beveled washer, thread though horn, then secure with nut.

Photobucket
Screw in about 1/2" threaded rod into the ball link.

Photobucket
Thread the other ball link onto the rod so you have two ball links attached to each other.

Photobucket
Reattach horn to servo. Note that linkage is sitting on top of the horn, and NOT mounted underneath.

Photobucket
Attach the other linkage to the rotate arm on the axis rod as shown.

Next: Assembling the 3 axis plate continued...yet again.

Doc,
Thanks for all this info. Soon as I get some time I'll create a link for these in the permanent how to section.
