The first step to attaching the jaw servo is notching out an area where the jaw rod will go. The plates were designed to allow space for that, but the way the plate fits in this skull, we'll need some extra room. A Rototool with a grinder bit works nicely.

Should look something like this.

Now take an HS311 standard servo and cut the tabs off from the bottom end reading the label rightside up.

Use a rasp to file down the remaining plastic.

Should be flush when done.

the servo will sit vertically, and should now sit flush on the plate when all the tab plastic has been filed down. Placement of the servo is important, it will sit on the plate halfway along the jaw cutout ridge on the plate. See pic for placement.

A servo bracket will be needed to hold it down to the plate. Cut one from scrap galvanized steel from strapping material you can get from Home Depot, about 1/2" wide. Fit it around the servo's vertical dimensions leaving 1/2" tabs bent parallel to the plate. Drill holes in the ends that will sit on the plate, 3/32 bit. Mark the holes on the plate for drilling.

Drill holes in the plate where you marked with pen. Use a 3/32 bit.

Chuck in a 4/40 tap and cut threads into the plate. I highly recommend getting one, but if you don't have a tap, you can use 4/40 nuts on the other side to hold the servo bracket down.

Screw the servo bracket down around the servo onto the plate using 4/40 screws.

Another view, note placement of servo.
