The 3 axis plates I use are from www.graveyardskulls.com and I highly recommend these kits. If you aren;t familier with them, they are the kits based on the design bt HalloweenBob and there is a rather lengthy thread about it over at Halloween forum. Go there if you want to make your own plates from scratch, just search for 3 axis skulls. I opted to use GYS kits because the are well made and consistent. These are the parts that come with the kit. I use the Bucky version as the Lindberg plate is too small fro my skulls. The servos are Hi-Tech brand and for the plate I use 3 425BB's for the neck and a 311 for the jaw.

First thing I do is replace all the servo horns with the sliding adjustable ones.

I than drill a 3/32 hole in the horn widening the outermost hole.

This hole is now big enough to accommodate a 2/56 size screw.

2 of the servos need to be mounted "above board" meaning the tabs are on top of the plate, but in order to do this, we need to slip the servo through the rectangle hole. Not possible due to the cable harness on the servo.

Get a roto tool and widen the corners using a grinding cylinder.

Should slide in nicely now.

Take the axis rod bracket and slip it under the servo tabs.

Another view. Make sure the bracket is facing forward.

Make sure the servo is on top of the bracket.

Screw it down on the plate.

Do the same with the rotate servo.

Both servos should be at nearly the same level, the nod servo a tad higher due to it being mounted on top of the axis bracket.
NEXT ASSEMBLING THE AXIS PLATE CONTINUED.....
