Garage of Evil!!

Ok so we have an Evil Carnival theme going... I'm stepping it up to a Haunted Bemusement Park this year....

Two rather big Pieces (and a bit ambitious) as well as some mid size rework

Project 1:

  • Description Midget (ok little folk) Carousel
  • Incomplete due to time constraints
  • General: Operational miniature (~1/2 - 3/4 scale) carousel mechanics (rotating)
  • DECORATIVE Horses (black of course)perhaps skeletal or corpseified and 'animals' (to be fabricated probably using Blinkys Fred method. articulation (planned, but optional for this year)
  • Scare:Minimal, mostly creepy ambiance, though an actor will be part of the set, still till :)

Project2:

  • DescriptionScale Rollercoaster (partial)
  • Didn't get done materials delivery time too long
  • GeneralOperational for segment that is constructed, including car
  • Decorative:Other elements lights etc to simulate the rest of the coaster is there
  • Scare:CRASH ! actors Blood etc
  • progress: the track area where I'll be building is cleared and ready to start positioning and leveling footers, but the weeds and trees are now out of my way :) Will need to get more lumber but have a lot already ...
  • Sept 10 - 6 footers dug and poured - Im beat tonite typing is even a strain
  • Sept 15 - more footers dug and poured - a lot of LABOR and starting to see results
  • Sept 21 - Finally I have enough footers done :) Now the woodworking begins, but should go pretty quick
  • also graded the area to insure good drainage
  • started great stuffing the kiddie pool (new base for the fountain
  • Sept 23 - Danm still waiting for those darn relays, got initial stock of galv HW for the coaster
    • got some stockade fence sections for 'partitioning/blocking' of the walk (from local fence co that gives away the ones they remove)
    • Neighbors allow me to raid their backyard scrap heaps for usable materials
    • found another fogger that needs repair
      • Last but not least finally drying out from last weekends 'Tropical" deluges (ok like saturday was a continuous one, but I got the garage reorganized and the basement ready for project building.. so not a total washout
      • Thought of the day (may be fleeting) I'm thinking of painting in invisible (UV) paint/spray whatever... the structure with bones, so it looks like the coaster is constructed from tehm, and illuminating with blacklight ... hmmm
  • Sept 29 - Been keeping busy over the weekend, got the fog box enclosure built and primed.
    • Picked up some more lumber for the coaster
    • Finally got the last of the bolts for the coaster build yea !!
    • And (even better) actually got 2 of the larger uprights put togehter !!!!!!
  • Oct 12 Ok a lot done. the Festival of Pain (sideshow/maze) is done only some lighting remains
    • The Coaster structure is done, track work ahead
    • I'm modifying my original crash thoughts to a more attainable one, where the ride starts off running on the track, ducks behind some camo (stopping the real car) and picks up with a projection tearing off into the netherworld. Kinda was it real or spirits
    • put the center post up for the carousel, hopefully I can get to making it spin, if not it will look good anyways
    • Started putting up the game booth area of the midway, and making repairs(minor) to the food booth
    • Put up about 1/2 of hhe stockade sections (blocks) in the back for the midway to the fortune teller (Rose) and the Jack
    • Have the jack0in the box popper about 1/2 done and what is done is painted and prepped for outside use :)
